Mozart Never Did This – back in force

To anyone whom it may concern,

After such a long time of absense, some of our followers might have wondered if we got sued, kidnapped or bored with it.

None of the above!

After a way-too-long-but-somehow-ok summerbreak, and information policy which resembled current internet-blackouts in certain countries of the middle east, Mozart Never Did This is back – and back with a blast!

We have been using our time well and have rehearsed a new repertoire, polished old hymnes and streamlined our show. The result is strong as ever, and we are very pleased to welcome our newest member on keys: Momchil Atanasoff.

Be sure to tune in for more, as we are preparing to steam-roll our audience once again, amd make Rotterdam the place to be if you care for kick-ass music and danced-through nights…

This year is the 20th anniversary of what has become one of the largest festivals of it’s kind and attracts many visitors from all over the world. Sure to be a fun evening, we are very much looking forward to this!
Price-tag for a day-ticket of this festival is 7,50, if you can make them believe you are under 12, otherwise 10 €.

back in action – back in force

April was a mandatory month of a necessary no-gig policy, due to absence of our drummer (he fled the country for limited time). As you might agree, Drum and Bass without Drums kinda sucks…
“Hey, what kind of music are you playing tonight?”
“_ and Bass!”
Now he is back, and Mozart Never did This returns with force. Three new shows for the next weeks should give everyone a dose of what they so desperately crave for, and we are oh so very sorry you were forced into abstinence!

With this post I declare the christmas/new year hollidays for Mozart Never Did This. We are (almost) all already in our country of origin, and that is where I will go now as well.
Amazin’ how much has happened since our founding! Hard to believe it has only been such a short time, filled with so many great experiences and opportunities!
With our concerts I believe we have given the dnb scene in Rotterdam a new drive. People from many different countries and with different musical backgrounds came together to celebrate life at our shows. With our strong live energy we have opened the ears of our audience to a different style they might not even like, nor normally listen to; but nontheless everyone dances like crazy. Our music isn’t about a certain style, it’s about fun. We strive to give our audience the best euphoric time of their life, an evening to remember. To make this happen in venues that normally do not programm this kind of sound makes it even more special.

2010 is gonna find us busy, as already stated earlier, future shows are being arranged.
We’ll keep on spreading the word of the drum n bass, and our party music is sure to go on in the new year.

Stephie about herself:

Originally coming from Bavaria, Germany, I started my musical journey from a very young age on.
After having studied two years of jazz singing at the Music College Regensburg, it brought me here to Rotterdam where I’m in my last year at the pop department of the conservatory. I have always kept a big openness and interest for different styles of music as well as for different disciplines of art.
In the meantime I do various projects as singer, songwriter and also as performer, working together with different kind of musicians, dancers and circus artists. I feel home in many music styles and in general have a big love and passion for music and expression. I feel very lucky to have met so many great, inspiring and creative people to share my journey with.

And of course we are writing arrangements and charts like crazy and rehearse as much as possible, which is actually hard to organize due to the amount of people involved (7+).
The only thing that is sure: drum n bass, in your face!

Experimenting with drum n bass played live on stage in the fair city of Rotterdam…
After our first musical steps at the fullmoon party last week we are now busy with rehearsals to further increase our repertoire.

The band/ feature concept is working out really good, but we definetely need more songs for the core-band. Well, since we just got started I am happily looking forward to the future!

Furthermore, we have a new gig-option for jazzcafe Dizzy, will keep you updated on that!

Eli about herself:

I grew up in the cuban countryside as a child of a german mother and a cuban father and dreamed of becoming an operasinger.
When i was 9 years old my mother decided to take me to her hometown- Berlin- just before the wall came down.

Here I experienced social changes and different scenes, an atmosphere of artistic freedom and creativity. This city, though it is so different from the latin way of celebrating life in all its aspects, also enchanted me with ist rough and crazy charme.
This was the playground for me to discover Rock, Musical, Funk, Soul and Dub. Later on I followed the call for Latin, Jazz and Improvisation.

I attempted to study cultural science at University but I surrendered to music and to its ways of expressing emotions and touch the hearts of people.

Our very own website is online as of today, content is being added as often as possible. Be sure to re-check our site in the coming weeks as I iron out the tweaks and glitches…
I would like to encourage everyone who is thinking of setting up a site to consider Wordpress, a free content-management-system for blogs. With a little thought it was possible to build this site alone using Wordpress, all that was needed was a web-space that supported the requirements, which I already had.
Anyway, enough of the advertising.
